Job summary

AHB Group in Port Melbourne is seeking a detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our growing residential construction team. You will produce accurate working drawings using AutoCAD and collaborate with engineers, planners, and builders.

Reporting to the Drafting Manager, this role offers hybrid work from Port Melbourne and remote options, with opportunities to advance as our multi-unit projects expand across Melbourne. Strong organisation and time management are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher in drafting.
• Experience in residential drafting roles.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and reading/drawing detailed working drawings.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, Small Lot Housing Code and NCC.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate working drawings including siting plans, floor plans, elevations, internal layouts, electrical plans and façade details.
• Ensure drawings comply with Building Codes, Council and Developer requirements.
• Review site levels and design site works.
• Interpret and incorporate structural engineering and energy efficiency requirements.
• Liaise with internal teams, consultants, suppliers and planning authorities.
• Assist with town planning documentation and Council submissions.
• Provide support on production and construction-related queries.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented Draftsperson to join our dynamic and fast-paced environment. Reporting directly to the Drafting Manager, you'll work collaboratively with a team of skilled professionals, with the flexibility to work from both our Port Melbourne office and remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Producing accurate working drawings using AutoCAD, including siting plans, floor plans, elevations, internal layouts, electrical plans, and façade details.
• Ensuring all drawings comply with Building Codes, Council, and Developer requirements.
• Reviewing site levels and designing site works.

About You

• A formal qualification in drafting (Diploma or higher).

• Strong analytical skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
