Job summary

The Sydney Symphony Orchestra is Australia’s flagship orchestra, presenting performances that inspire and engage audiences in Sydney and beyond. The Philanthropy Officer works with the Head of Philanthropy to achieve fundraising goals and cultivate donor relationships, including mid-level to major gifts, while maintaining accurate donor records in Tessitura.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in philanthropy.
• Proven ability to secure renewals and gifts.
• Excellent written and spoken communication.
• Strong stakeholder relationship management.
• Experience with Tessitura CRM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Head of Philanthropy to achieve annual fundraising goals and track against budgets.
• Strengthen donor relationships to secure renewals and gifts from mid-level to major donors.
• Organise meetings with donors and prospects and devise plans for increased gifts.
• Deliver persuasive messaging on impact to cultivate donor relationships.
• Assist donor events and post-event follow-up to enhance donor experience.
• Log all donor activity in the CRM (Tessitura) and manage donor records.
• Prepare briefing documents for campaigns and invitations in consultation with Marketing.
• Provide VIP ticketing support to donors as needed.
• Lead the production of three annual editions of the donor newsletter Noteworthy.
