Alzheimers Queensland is seeking passionate Domestic Assistants to join our community care team on a casual basis for the Central Coast region. This role provides a range of high‑quality domestic services tailored to support clients within the community who require assistance with everyday duties in their own homes.

You will play a meaningful role in promoting the retention of existing life skills, supporting clients to lead a valued life, and enabling them to remain living safely in their own

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role, preferably aged care or community settings.
• Good level of physical fitness to complete repetitive tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; proficient with digital applications and smartphones.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
• Smartphone for work use.
• National Police Certificate clearance (renew every 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Provide client-focused domestic assistance and social support.
• Undertake routine cleaning tasks in clients' homes.
• Assist clients with unaccompanied shopping and meal preparation.
• Apply hygiene and infection control procedures.
• Maintain progress notes and escalate concerns promptly.
• Undertake other duties as service needs change.

Alzheimers Queensland (AQ) is a progressive, not-for-profit organisation providing a comprehensive and bespoke suite of world-class aged care services. We are seeking passionate Domestic Assistants to join our community care team on a Casual basis for our Central Coast region. This role provides a range of high-quality domestic services tailored to support clients within the community who require assistance with everyday duties in their own homes.

You will play a meaningful role in promoting the retention of existing life skills, supporting clients to lead a valued life, and enabling them to remain living safely in their own home.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide client-focused domestic assistance and social support while upholding the client's cultural independence and dignity.
• Undertake routine cleaning tasks, Tasks include but not limited to cleaning high touch point areas such as toilets and kitchen; sweeping or vacuuming; mopping; dusting; changing bedsheets; washing, drying, ironing and folding clothes; washing walls and windows; and other duties as requested.
• Assist clients with unaccompanied shopping and meal preparation.
• Apply hygiene, infection control, and safe cleaning procedures.
• Maintain clear communication, document regular progress notes in the system, and elevate any concerns in a timely manner.
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required or directed as service needs change.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in a similar role (experience in aged care or community settings is highly desirable).
• Good level of physical fitness with an ability to complete repetitive tasks for extended periods.
• Superior time management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, alongside proficiency in using digital applications and smart phones.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
• Current Australian Driver's License.
• Roadworthy and registered vehicle with full comprehensive car insurance.
• A smart phone and willingness to use it for work purposes.
• Current National Police Certificate clearance (and willingness to renew it every 3 years).
