The Enterprise Operations Centre Shift Leader role at the Defence Network Operations Centre in Canberra requires leading the on-shift team, owning incident management, and ensuring 24/7 operations with ITIL-aligned practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT operations, NOC/SOC or service desk with after-hours/shift work.
• Proven ability to lead or coordinate teams and manage major incidents to resolution.
• Knowledge of incident, problem and change management (ITIL-aligned).
• Experience with monitoring tools and operational tasks such as backups/restores.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the EOC team on a 12-hour rotating shift, ensuring high-quality monitoring and incident tasks.
• Provide after-hours environmental monitoring and escalate events to maintain service continuity.
• Own end-to-end management of high-priority incidents, including triage and post-incident reporting.
• Oversee routine tasks and service requests within SLAs and produce shift reports.
• Coach team members and drive continual service improvement through proactive actions.
