Job summary

Zinfra is seeking a Lineworker to join our team at the Tullamarine depot, supporting No Go Zone work across the Jemena network. The role covers network operations, public engagement, route surveys, switching activities and No Go Zone device installation.

Key prerequisites include a VIC Electrical licence, Certificate III ESI in Distribution, and an OHS induction card. A safety‑focused, team‑oriented mindset is essential; driving licence required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III ESI in Distribution is mandatory.
• Current VIC Electrical licence is required or highly desirable.
• OHS Construction Induction Card (White/Blue/Red) is expected.
• RSO and DS certificates are desirable but not essential.
• Experience in electrical maintenance environments and high‑risk work areas.

Responsibilities

• Install and remove No Go Zone visual warning devices.
• Issue permits to work.
• Carrying out switching on LV and HV networks.
• Engage with and advise the public on No Go Zone requirements.
• Study and interpret technical drawings and network diagrams.
• Complete route surveys for Over Dimensional Transport and provide escorts.
• Assist Electrical Network Operators and other Work Groups as required.
• Undertake construction and maintenance of electricity distribution/transmission networks per policies and HSE procedures.

About the Role

We are seeking a Lineworker to join our team based at our Tullamarine depot, supporting the broader No Go Zone team in delivering critical work packages across the Jemena network.

This is a hands-on and varied role that offers the opportunity to work across network operations, public engagement, route surveys, switching activities, and the installation of No Go Zone warning devices.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Install and remove No Go Zone visual warning devices


• Issue permits to work


• Carrying out switching on LV an HV networks


• Engaging with and advising the public on No Go Zone requirements


• Study and interpret technical drawings and network line diagrams


• Complete route surveys for Over Dimensional Transport and provide escorts

• Undertake the construction and maintenance of electricity distribution and/or transmission networks in accordance with Company Policies, Quality Systems and HSE procedures as well as statutory requirements

About You

• Hold a Certificate III ESI in Distribution and a current VIC Electrical licence


• Current Australian drivers licence


• OHS Construction Induction Card (White/Blue/Red card)


• RSO Certificate and DS Certificate (desirable)


• Experience within an electrical maintenance environment


• Working in high-risk environments


• Good interpersonal skills for interacting with customers


• Demonstrated ability to recognise and solve problems in the workplace


• Proven ability to work productively as part of a wider team while being able to work independently at times


• A safety focused attitude
