Job summary

Based in Perth, we are seeking a Distribution Lines Estimator to join the Estimating and Pre Contracts team and deliver accurate, commercially competitive estimates for distribution line projects.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating distribution line or electrical infrastructure projects.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Strong knowledge of labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for distribution line projects.
• Review tender documentation, scopes, drawings, specifications and project requirements.
• Complete quantity take offs and develop bills of quantities.
• Prepare labour, plant, material and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Develop detailed and accurate tender pricing within required timeframes.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and opportunities.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and internal stakeholders to develop accurate estimates.
• Review and analyse historical project costs and rates.
• Assist with tender submissions, clarifications and commercial reviews.
• Maintain accurate estimating records, databases and pricing information.
• Support the wider Bid and Pre Contracts team throughout the tender process.

With a strong pipeline of work, we are looking for an experienced Distribution Lines Estimator to join our team in Perth.

About the Role

Working as part of the Estimating and Pre Contracts team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for distribution line projects.

This role will suit an experienced Estimator with a strong understanding of electrical distribution infrastructure who can confidently interpret project scopes, drawings and specifications and develop detailed project pricing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and pricing for distribution line projects
• Review tender documentation, scopes, drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Complete quantity take offs and develop bills of quantities
• Prepare labour, plant, material and subcontractor cost estimates
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Develop detailed and accurate tender pricing within required timeframes

About You

We are looking for an experienced Estimator with a strong background in electrical distribution, powerlines, utilities, infrastructure or construction.

• Demonstrated experience estimating distribution line or electrical infrastructure projects
• Strong knowledge of overhead and/or underground distribution networks
• Experience preparing detailed estimates, quantity take offs and tender pricing
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and scopes of work
• Strong understanding of labour, materials, plant and subcontractor costs
• Experience obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project risks
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using estimating or project management systems

Experience working on Western Power, utility, transmission or distribution projects will be highly regarded.
