Job summary

Peckys Disability Services in Blacktown invites applications for casual Disability Support Workers. The role focuses on direct support, personal care, and community engagement within day programs, requiring a current NSW driver’s license and the ability to drive a Hi-Ace van.

A 1st Aid certificate or willingness to obtain within a month is essential, as is NDIS screening. We seek dedicated professionals with at least 2 years’ experience, capable of working in a busy day program and with people

Disability Support Workers - casual positions available

Peckys Disability Services (Peckys) has been operating in the local Blacktown area since 1981, providing quality support and services including day programs, accommodation support and weekend recreation services for more than 200 participants.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for dedicated and caring Disability Support Workers to join our programs on a casual basis in the Blacktown area.

The successful applicants will join a specialised supportive team providing active care to participants, focusing on a mixture of personal care, in-house activities and community access.

Responsibilities include:

Providing direct support to people with a disability including personal care and medication management;

Application of Participant plans ie; behaviour support, epilepsy management, etc.;

Accurate data collection in all areas of community participation;

Maintaining and monitoring a participant’s person-centered support plan.

Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy day program environment is essential

Demonstrated experience working with peoplewith challenging behaviours

Ability to support participants in community engagement and skill development.

Ability to work within a teamenvironment as well as ability to work independently with a participant one to one.

Current NSW Driver's License.

Confidence in driving a Hi-Ace van

1st Aid certificate or willingness to obtain within 1month of start date

NDIS Screening check, or a willingness to obtain prior to work commencement

Confirmed COVID-19 vaccination

Relevant industry and/or tertiary qualification e.g. Certificate 3 or 4 in Disabilities
