Job summary

Carers Collective is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to assist participants on the Sunshine Coast. You will deliver tailored in-home care, helping individuals live with independence and dignity across various shifts.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to connect with participants and families.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.

• Experience in aged care or disability sectors is preferred.
• Manual Handling skills and safety awareness.
• First Aid including CPR certification.
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport.
• Current Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Prepare meals and assist with nutrition needs.
• Light housekeeping and domestic assistance.
• Support participants to maintain independence and daily living goals.

Disability Support Worker- Sunshine Coast

Join the incredible team at Carers Collective as a passionate and dedicated Support Worker, providing life-changing care for participants across Brisbane.

In this rewarding role, you'll deliver tailored support in our participants' homes, helping them live with independence and dignity-every shift is a chance to make a real difference!

We've got plenty of ongoing shifts up for grabs, including day shifts and Inactive Sleepovers, with pathways to secure part-time roles after your probation period. If you're looking for meaningful work with room to grow, this is your moment!

What does a typical shift look like?

Each day is unique, depending on the needs of our participants. Tasks may include:

• Assisting with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
• Preparing meals and supporting participants with nutrition needs.
• Providing light housekeeping, laundry, and other domestic assistance.
• Supporting participants to achieve their goals for independence and daily living.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to participants, engaging them in social and recreational activities
• Documenting care provided in line with company policies and industry standards.

What we're looking for

• A Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services desirable
• Previous experience in a similar support worker or care assistant role, preferably within the aged care or disability sectors
• Manual Handling skills (and no underlying conditions to limit manual handling)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and empathise with clients
• A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others and a commitment to person-centred care
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
• A current First Aid including CPR certificate
• A current driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
• Current Police Report
