Qualifications

• Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Screening or willing to obtain
• Blue Card or willing to obtain
• First Aid and CPR or willing to obtain
• Driver’s license with reliable vehicle and insurance
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module and COVID-19 Infection Control Certificate (free online)
• Positive attitude, passion and physical fitness
• 2+ years of experience in disability support (preferred)
• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Allied Health, or Mental Health (preferred)
• Studying or qualified in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Psychology) (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Personal care: assisting with cooking, showering, grooming, medication safety, mobility, and daily routines
• Community and social engagement: supporting participation in local activities
• Supporting clients with behavioural and mental health needs using Positive Behaviour Support Plans
• Helping families with complex needs: emotional and practical support
• Flexible travel across Sunshine Coast to bring care where needed

Your Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centered support to people with complex needs, helping them live independently. Your responsibilities will include:

Personal care – Supporting people to cook, shower, groom, take medication safely, move around their home, and more.

Community & social engagement – Encouraging and joining our clients as they participate in local activities.

Supporting clients with behavioural & mental health needs – Working with effective Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Practitioners.

Helping families with complex needs – Providing emotional and practical support.

Flexible travel across Sunshine Coast – Bringing care where it’s needed most.

What You Need to Get Started

• Yellow Card or NDIS Worker Screening (or willing to obtain).

Preferred (but not required):

• 2+ years of experience in disability support.
• Experience with Restrictive Practices & PBSP.
• Certificate III/IV in Individual Support, Allied Health, or Mental Health.
• Studying or qualified in Allied Health (Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Psychology).
