Job summary

Kirinari Disability Services is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide one-to-one respite support for a child in a dedicated home environment in New South Wales. You will help with personal care, routine activities and meaningful in-home engagement, while ensuring safety and dignity at all times.

We welcome patient, reliable and communicative applicants who can follow established routines and support plans, with ongoing coaching and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current NSW Working With Children Check.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
• Current Driver Licence.
• Australian Working Rights.
• Availability for weekend and active overnight shifts.
• Ability to follow Behaviour Support Plans and procedures.
• Commitment to child safety, dignity and professional boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safe and enjoyable respite stays for a child.
• Complete personal care routines with dignity and respect.
• Engage in meaningful in-home activities and routines.
• Develop independence through appropriate support and encouragement.
• Receive medication support in line with training and plans.
• Maintain safety, comfort and wellbeing during overnight stays.
• Follow a Behaviour Support Plan and document progress notes.

The Role

You’ll support a child to:

• Participate in safe and enjoyable respite stays
• Complete personal care routines with dignity and respect
• Engage in meaningful in-home activities
• Follow clear and consistent routines
• Develop independence through appropriate support and encouragementReceive medication support in line with training and support plans
• Feel safe and supported during active overnight stays
• Maintain choice, comfort and wellbeing

You will also:

• Follow a Behaviour Support Plan and approved strategies
• Complete progress notes, incident reports and required documentation
• Work collaboratively with family, allied health and support teams
• Monitor and report changes in behaviour, health or wellbeing
