Job summary

Support Worker Co is seeking casual Support Workers to assist adult NDIS participants in SILs and respite services in Gladstone and surrounding suburbs. This role involves a 24-hour care model with shifts from 6am, 2pm, and sleep-overs, requiring compassionate, reliable individuals to provide high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (or currently studying) is required.
• Minimum 12 months paid experience supporting people in SILs with disabilities.
• Australian Driver's Licence, First Aid and CPR are essential.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card are mandatory for paid work.

Responsibilities

• Support adults in SIL arrangements and respite services.
• Work a 24-hour care model with morning, afternoon and sleep-over shifts.
• Assist with personal activities including hygiene, medication, and meals.
• Perform manual handling and domestic tasks as required.
• Follow PBSP and enable community participation in groups or 1-on-1.
• Transport participants using company vehicle or own vehicle.

Support Worker Co is a leading Support Worker Agency that provides best-fit Disability Support Workers to Disability Service providers across Australia.

We are currently seeking Casual Support Workers to support adult NDIS participants in SILs, & respite services in Gladstone and surrounding suburbs.

Female Support Workers are preferred for this role due to female clients' requests with personal hygiene needs.

Overview of the role:

• We have opportunities to support people in SIL arrangements & respite services.
• 24-hour care model, meaning staff are required to work a combination of shifts – morning (from 6am), afternoon (from 2pm) and sleep over shifts.
• Assist participants with the range of personal activities including hygiene support, medication assistance, manual handling, domestic assistance & meals.
• Following specific positive behaviour support plans (PBSP)
  Assist participants with engaging in community, social and recreational activities.
• Support people within both group settings and 1-on-1 arrangements.
• Use a company vehicle and/or your own vehicle to transport participants to community-based outings.

What you need:

• Completed or currently studying a Certificate III in Individual Support (or relevant)
• 12 months paid experience supporting people in SILs with physical & intellectual disabilities.
• Australian Driver's License
• First Aid Certificate
• CPR
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check (Blue Card) for paid employment
• National Police Check (obtained within the last 6 months or willing to apply)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module
• Reliable smart phone with data
