Job summary

Select Support Services in Cairns and the Tablelands is seeking casual disability support workers experienced with high-intensity supports for complex physical and mental health needs. You will support participants in their homes and in SDA/SIL housing, with potential for permanent placement.

Candidates must be flexible across 7 days including mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights, with immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability).
• Drivers license and reliable vehicle, comprehensively insured.
• Yellow Card and Blue Card.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Medication Assistance Certificate.
• National Police Clearance within the last 3 months, or willing to obtain.
• NDIS e-Learning modules completed with certificates.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-intensity disability support in participants' homes and SDA/SIL accommodation.
• Assist with manual handling and medication administration as required.
• Support participants to a high level and participate in ongoing learning.

Are you an a enthusiastic disability support worker with experience in high intensity supports for complex physical needs and mental health care needs? Do you want to make a real difference in participants lives? We are expanding and we need you! We have vacancies supporting participants in their own homes and also in SDA/SIL accommodation.

Position Available

We are seeking support workers in Cairns and the Tablelands. (Casual, with potential for permanent position.) You must have experience in manual handling, medication administration and other high intensity supports. We are looking for staff that want to learn and develop, maybe become a team leader in the future and are committed to supporting participants to a high level.

Availability

Due to the needs of our business, candidates must have flexibility with their availability to work. The participants whom we support request consistent staff and therefore availability over 7 days, mornings, afternoons, evenings and nights (both active and inactive) is required.

Available for immediate start.

Job Requirements

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability)
• Drivers License and Reliable Vehicle, comprehensively insured
• Yellow Card and Blue Card
• First Aid and CPR certification
• Medication Assistance Certificate
• National Police Clearance, obtained within the last three months, or willing to obtain prior to employment
• NDIS e-Learning modules completed with certificates - Worker induction, orientation, supporting safe meals and effective communication.

Industry experience or experience in supporting high-intensity complex need participants is highly regarded.
