Job summary

Care1 is seeking enthusiastic and reliable team members to provide high-quality disability and care support to recipients based in Flinders and surrounds.

As part of Care1, you will help with daily living activities, personal care, domestic tasks, transportation, and monitor wellbeing, under individual care plans. We offer weekly pay and highly competitive pay rates with diverse shifts, plus funded training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disabilities or similar is desirable (willingness to obtain essential).
• Current valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before employment.
• NDISWC and Working with Children Check required.
• Experience with complex and challenging behaviours.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide comfort and assist with activities of daily living per care plans.
• Assist with personal care: showering, dressing, grooming, medication assistance.
• Provide domestic assistance: light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation.
• Support clients using equipment such as walking aids, wheelchairs or hoists.
• Monitor wellbeing and report progress to the care team.
• Transport clients to appointments and social activities as needed.

About the Role

You'll be responsible for providing comfort to our clients by assisting with the requirements and activities of daily living as set out in their individual care plans. This may include:

• Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs
• Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming and medication assistance
• Domestic assistance: light housework (cleaning, laundry and meal preparation)
• Supporting clients who use personal equipment/aid, this may include walking or standing frames, wheelchairs, hoists
• Monitoring the well-being of clients and reporting on their progress
• Social Activities: transporting clients to their appointments, shopping, any planned social activity.
• Right to Work in Australia such as passport, visa, birth certificate
• Current valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before employment
• NDISWC
• Working with Children Check
• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disabilities or similar is desirable (willingness and the ability to obtain is essential)
• Experience working with clients who display challenging and complex behaviours
• Experience providing complex personal care
• Previous healthcare or community welfare experience is along with a genuine desire to support people to live a higher quality of life will be highly regarded.
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
