Job summary

Achieve Australia is seeking a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centered quality support to people with disability. You will help clients set and reach goals, support daily living tasks, and promote independent living in the community.

You will work in a role that requires empathy, safety, and teamwork, with training and development opportunities and a focus on inclusion and safety in all activities.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, role modelling and customer service skills.
• Problem-solving abilities with adaptability to changing environments.
• Understanding of NDIS, Code of Conduct and Workplace Health & Safety.
• Awareness of human rights and challenges faced by people with disabilities.
• Ability to transport clients in Achieve Australia vehicles.
• Experience with adults with complex disability needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide an enjoyable, respectful, and safe environment for all people we support.
• Provide personal/physical care including grooming, toileting, meal prep and home support.
• Support use of physical and communication aids and devices as required.
• Help clients participate in interests, hobbies and community relationships.
• Assist clients to access recreational and transport services.
• Advocate for clients and their families to access community services.
• Complete client documentation and update our client management system.
