Job summary

Melba Support Services invites applications for a Disability Support Worker to help people with disability live meaningful, self-directed lives. You will work across various services, delivering personalised support that promotes independence, choice and control, while helping clients reach their goals and participate in what matters to them.

No prior disability experience is required; what matters most is a genuine commitment to human rights, inclusion and person-led practice.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Diploma of Community Services or equivalent qualification.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored support to each person’s goals, preferences and needs.
• Help people build independence, confidence and life skills.
• Assist participation in community, recreational, educational and employment activities.
• Provide personal care and daily living support when required.
• Support health and wellbeing, including medication assistance when required.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver safe, person-led support.
