Disability Support Worker – 1:1 Complex Care

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Support Worker to provide 1:1 care to a participant who is wheelchair-bound and requires a high level of skilled, hands-on support. This is an urgent requirement with an immediate start available.

About the Role

You will support a participant who:

• Is wheelchair-bound and requires manual handling for all transfers
• Requires PEG feeding support
• Requires catheter-related care
• Requires assistance with diabetes management
• Requires support with all activities of daily living

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in line with dietary requirements
• Administer medication as per care plan
• Perform safe manual handling and wheelchair transfers
• Provide catheter-related support
• Administer PEG feeds in line with clinical guidelines
• Support diabetes management (training provided)
• Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting
• Communicate professionally with family, guardians and other stakeholders

Essential Experience & Skills

• Practical, hands-on experience in personal care
• Practical experience in PEG feeding
• Practical experience with hoist transfers and manual handling
• Practical experience with catheter-related support
• Good English proficiency, written and verbal
• Ability to remain calm, patient and professional in a hands-on care setting

Requirements

• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Current First Aid & CPR
• Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle
• Willingness to complete diabetes management training if not already held.
