Job summary

The Better Day Community Care seeks to support elderly and disabled clients in Toowoomba, QLD, through compassionate in-home care. The role involves helping with daily routines, mobility, personal care, meals, and social activities to promote comfort and independence within the home setting.

You will provide companionship, assist with errands and appointments, and may reside with the client for extended in-home support as needed to ensure continuous care and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Providing ongoing assistance and supervision to elderly and disabled individuals during daily routines to promote comfort, safety, and wellbeing.
• Supporting mobility-related activities including transferring, walking, repositioning, and safe use of mobility aids.
• Preparing and serving nutritious meals and refreshments per individual dietary needs.
• Organising social, recreational and community activities to encourage engagement and quality of life.
• Carrying out general household duties to maintain a clean, safe living environment.
• Assisting with personal care such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting and hygiene with dignity.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation and foster positive relationships.
• Assisting with shopping, appointments, prescriptions and errands to meet daily living needs.
• Where required, residing with the client or providing extended in-home support for continuous care.

• Supporting clients with mobility-related activities, including transferring, walking, repositioning, and the safe use of mobility aids to enhance their physical comfort and accessibility.
• Preparing and serving nutritious meals and refreshments in accordance with individual dietary requirements, preferences, and health considerations.
• Organising and facilitating social, recreational, and community-based activities designed to encourage social interaction, engagement, and overall quality of life.
• Performing general household duties, including vacuuming, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe, hygienic, and comfortable living environment for clients.
• Assisting clients with personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and maintaining personal hygiene while preserving dignity and respect at all times.
• Providing companionship, emotional support, and meaningful social interaction to promote clients' mental wellbeing, reduce feelings of isolation, and foster positive relationships.
• Assisting with shopping, collecting prescriptions, attending appointments, and carrying out other errands to support clients in meeting their daily living needs.
• Where required, residing with the client or providing extended in-home support to ensure continuous care, supervision, and assistance tailored to the individual's circumstances.
