Job summary

genU is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers for the Hobart region to enhance clients' lives through personal care, community access and person-centred supports. You will foster independent living and empower clients to achieve personal goals.

We seek individuals with availability for morning, day and evening shifts, holding relevant qualifications and checks. Training and support will be provided to complete necessary screenings and modules.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar.
• First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate.
• HLTAAP001 Recognising Healthy Body Systems.
• HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication.
• HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely.
• Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDS endorsement.
• Police check if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in activities of daily living including medication, personal care, meal prep and hygiene.
• Promote independent living skills and client empowerment.
• Maintain written records per guidelines (medical, health and safety, behaviour notes).
• Undertake household tasks with client participation where possible.

genU is looking for passionate, inclusive Disability Support Workers for our Hobart region, to enhance the lives of our clients by providing personal care, community access and person-centred supports. You will foster independent living skills and empower your clients to make choices that lead to fulfilment and achievement of individual goals.

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who have availability and flexibility to work morning, day and evening shifts.

What you’ll do

As a Disability Support Worker in our Disability and Ageing teams, you’ll:

• Assist clients in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including medication, personal & self-care, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene
• Promote development and maintenance of independent living skills
• Receipt and maintenance of written records in accordance with guidelines including- medical records, health and safety concerns, notes on behaviours as per support plan
• Undertake physical household tasks with clients participating where possible

What you’ll bring

• Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar - or willing to obtain
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate
• HLTAAP001 Recognising Healthy Body Systems
• HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication
• HLTWHS005 - Conduct Manual Tasks Safely
• Current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDS endorsement
• Satisfactory completion of a police check(s) if required

(You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
