Job summary

genU in Hobart is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to support clients with personal care, community access and person-centred plans. The casual position offers mornings, days and evenings to suit flexibility, with a focus on empowering clients to achieve personal goals.

You will work to promote independent living, assist with daily tasks, and maintain accurate records while following care plans in a welcoming, supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III in relevant support services.
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR.
• Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDIS endorsement.
• Police check completed if required.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living and personal care.
• Promote development of independent living skills.
• Maintain written records per guidelines (medical, safety, behavior notes).
• Undertake household tasks with client participation.

Education

Certificate IV in Disability

Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar

First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate

HLTAAP001 Recognising Healthy Body Systems

HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication

genU is looking for passionate, inclusive Disability Support Workers for our Hobart region, to enhance the lives of our clients by providing personal care, community access and person-centred supports. You will foster independent living skills and empower your clients to make choices that lead to fulfilment and achievement of individual goals.

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who have a vailability and flexibility to work morning, day and evening shifts.

What you'll do

• Assist clients in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including medication, personal & self-care, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene
• Promote development and maintenance of independent living skills
• Receipt and maintenance of written records in accordance with guidelines including- medical records, health and safety concerns, notes on behaviours as per support plan
• Undertake physical household tasks with clients participating where possible

What you'll bring

• Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar -or willing to obtain
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate
• HLTAAP001 Recognising Healthy Body Systems
• HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication
• Current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDISendorsement
• Satisfactory completion of a police check(s) if required

(You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.)
