Job summary

Unidex Health care is seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to support a male participant based in Thornlands. The role focuses on high-quality, person-centred care during a period of transition following spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury.

Applicants should have a valid Driver's Licence, clear National Police Check, Blue/Yellow Card, NDIS Worker Orientation, and medication handling certification, with strong manual handling and hoisting skills and

Qualifications

• Must have valid Australian Driver's Licence.
• Current National Police Clearance (within 12 months).
• Current Blue Card and Yellow Card.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module completed.
• Strong manual handling and hoisting experience.
• Must hold a current 006– assist clients with medication certificate or be willing to obtain.
• Must have a current Whooping Cough Vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care.
• Assistance with transfers, manual handling and hoisting.
• Assistance with domestic tasks and meal preparation.
• Medication management and administration.
• Support parental care and additional tasks.
• Community access including attending PT, Hand OT and Hydrotherapy weekly.

Due to an increase in rostered hours, we are seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Support Workers to support a male participant based in Thornlands. The participant is living with a spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury and requires high-quality, person-centred care and support during an important period of transition. Having recently become a first-time parent, the participant would greatly benefit from dedicated support that promotes independence, wellbeing, confidence and active participation in family life and parenting.

Roster:

• Monday - Sunday
• 7am - 10am
• 7am - 3pm
• 3pm - 10pm
• 8pm - 10pm
• 10pm - 7am (1 x inactive, 1 x active)

Duties:

• Assistance with personal care
• Bowel care including digital stimulation and enema's
• Assistance with transfers, manual handling and hoisting
• Assistance with domestic tasks and meal preparation
• Medication management
• Assistance with supporting parental care and additional tasks
• Community access including attending PT, Hand OT and Hydrotherapy each week

Skills & Experience

• Australian Driver's License

We are looking for Support Workers with good availability and flexibility to work a range of short and long shifts as well as overnights.
