Job summary

Samaritans in New South Wales is seeking a Disability Support Worker to assist individuals living with a disability to reach their potential and achieve their goals. The role involves supporting daily living activities, personal care, transportation, and community participation in a person-centred, strengths-based framework.

Applicants should be open to conversations, show initiative, and be able to work a rotating roster including some weekends and sleepovers/night shifts.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment medical, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and a valid driver's licence.

What we're looking for

• You will support household activities, medical and health needs, attending community events/activities, personal care, meal management, transport, communication, and managing emotions and behaviours.

About you:

• Be open to having conversations & be a good listener, without judgement
• Show initiative & think outside the box
• Empower participants you support- 'Do With' not 'Do For'
• Complete a pre-employment medical, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and have a valid driver's licence.
• Preferably be able to work a Rotating roster including some weekends and sleep overs/active night & split shifts.
