Job summary

Connectivity Care Solutions – Newcastle NSW is seeking a compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in Newcastle, NSW. In this casual role, you will help individuals with disability to live independently and achieve personal goals, providing high-quality care and support.

You will assist with daily living activities, accompany clients on outings, implement support plans, document progress, and promote dignity and choice in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in a disability support role.
• Excellent communication and rapport-building skills.
• Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
• Completion of Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent.
• Current First Aid certificate and valid driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities (personal care, meals, light housekeeping).
• Support clients during community outings and recreational activities.
• Implement individualised support plans to meet needs and preferences.
• Document client progress and communicate with family and care providers.

In this casual role, you will play a pivotal part in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disability, helping them to live independently and achieve their personal goals.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation and light housekeeping

Accompanying and supporting clients during community outings and recreational activities

Implementing individualised support plans to meet each client's unique needs and preferences

Documenting client progress and communication with family members and other care providers

Promoting client independence, dignity and choice throughout all interactions

What we're looking for

A minimum of 6 months' experience in a similar disability support role

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients

Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others

Completion of a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification

A current First Aid certificate and a valid driver's licence

Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
