Job summary

Samaritans, part of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle, is seeking dedicated carers to support individuals living with a disability to reach their goals. This rewarding, person-centred role focuses on empowerment and strengths-based care within a supportive community.

We offer flexible, permanent part-time or casual roles across a 24/7 roster with sleepovers, a generous salary package up to $611 per fortnight, and opportunities for career development.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Individual Support is desirable
• Be open to conversations & be a good listener, without judgement
• Show initiative & think outside the box
• Empower participants you support - 'Do With' not 'Do For'
• Complete a pre-employment medical, NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and have a valid driver’s licence
• Limited Part-time & Casual opportunities available
• Rotating roster including some weekends and sleep overs/active night & split shifts

Responsibilities

• Support household activities and personal care.
• Assist with medical and health needs.
• Attend community events and activities.
• Assist with meal planning and transport.
• Support emotional regulation and behaviour management

What we’re looking for

• Positions available in SIL (availability across 24/7 roster Including active shifts and sleep over shifts)
• permanent part-time positions are available

• You will support household activities, medical and health needs, attending community events/activities, personal care, meal management, transport, communication, and managing emotions and behaviours.
• Flexible availability across 7 days
• Certificate III Individual Support is desirable
