Job summary

Lifestyle Connections Association Inc. is seeking passionate and dedicated people to support people with disability in their homes and within the Cairns community.

This role includes sleepover shifts, evenings and weekends, and providing support within Supported Independent Living homes in the Cairns area. Applicants must have or be willing to obtain a Blue Card, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, current First Aid and CPR, and complete the NDIS Orientation Module.

Qualifications

• Blue Card required.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance required.
• First Aid and CPR certificates current.
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate completed.
• Own reliable vehicle.
• Current vehicle registration.
• Minimum of third-party property damage motor vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Work sleepover shifts, evenings and weekends.
• Provide support within Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
• Support people who may display behaviours of concern.
• Provide personal care including showering, dressing, toileting and other daily living activities.

Lifestyle Connections Association Inc. is seeking passionate and dedicated people to support people with disability in their homes and within the Cairns community.

We are particularly seeking applicants who are available and willing to:

• Work sleepover shifts, evenings and weekends
• Provide support within Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes
• Support people who may display behaviours of concern
• Provide personal care, including assistance with showering, dressing, toileting and other daily living activities

Experience supporting people with complex needs or behaviours of concern is highly regarded. Applicants should be calm, reliable and confident in following individual support plans, behaviour support strategies and workplace procedures.

Previous experience supporting people with complex needs or behaviours of concern is not essential; however, a Certificate III or Certificate IV in Individual Support, Disability Support or a related field is desirable.

Applicants must be available to work a combination of evenings, sleepovers and weekends and must be willing to provide personal care. Applicants without this availability or willingness will not be considered.

Applicants must also have:

• A valid Blue Card
• A valid NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates
• A completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate
• Their own reliable vehicle
• Current vehicle registration
• A minimum of third-party property damage motor vehicle insurance

These positions are employed under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
