Job summary

SCL Support Services in Coffs Harbour is hiring a Disability Support Worker to provide SIL and community-based support. You will help participants develop independence, support daily living, and participate in community activities across SIL environments and the wider community.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or equivalent (or willingness to obtain).
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
• Current Working With Children Check.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Current Australian Driver Licence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting participants with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assisting with medication administration within scope of practice and training.
• Supporting participants with mental health and psychosocial disability needs.
• Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
• Supporting participants with diabetes management and other health-related supports.
• Assisting with bowel care and other specialised supports as trained.
• Supporting community access, social participation and recreational activities.
• Transporting participants to appointments and activities.
• Encouraging choice, independence, dignity and skill development.
• Completing accurate progress notes and documentation.
• Building positive relationships with participants, families and professionals.
