Job summary

Life Without Barriers is hiring a Disability Support Worker to provide person-centred, on-site support at a Ryde housing facility. Roles available: Permanent Part-Time and Casual, with 24/7 coverage for unplanned needs to help residents maintain independence and routines.

Applicants must have a current First Aid certificate (HLTAID003 or HLTAID011), an unrestricted NSW driver’s licence, and be prepared for probity checks. Competitive SCHADS rates apply.

Qualifications

• Experience in concierge-style shared support models.
• Must have NSW driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 or HLTAID011.

Responsibilities

• Offer adaptable, on-demand support for non-routine requests.
• Assist with daily living tasks, personal care, and routines.
• Listen, learn, adapt and build supports around what matters to the individual.
• Provide personal care assistance that isn’t time-specific (dressing, grooming).
• Maintain a calm, empathetic approach in unplanned situations.
• Offer reassurance and emotional support.
• Support mobility and safe movement around the home.
