Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a Disability Support Worker for permanent part-time and casual roles at our Ryde facility. The on-site, concierge-style setting requires flexible, person-centred support to help residents maintain independence and daily routines.

Successful candidates will have a NSW driver’s licence, First Aid (HLTAID003/011), comfort with technology, and the ability to respond rapidly in dynamic situations while reflecting our inclusive mission.

Qualifications

• Experience in concierge-style shared support models.
• Ability to think and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
• A valid New South Wales driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on mobile and desktop.
• Current First Aid Certificate HLTAID003 or HLTAID011 is required.

Responsibilities

• Offer adaptable, on-demand support to address residents' non-routine requests.
• Assist with daily living tasks, personal care and routines.
• Listen, learn, and build supports around what matters to the individual.
• Provide personal care assistance that isn’t time-specific (dressing, grooming).
• Maintain a calm, empathetic approach during unplanned situations.
• Offer reassurance and emotional support to residents.
• Support mobility and safe movement around the home.
