We are on the lookout for a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the vision and performance of the hotel’s food and beverage offering, delivering a soulful essence—born from its history, creators, locale, community and people—to create a deeper connection with culture.

In this pivotal role, you will lead the overall Food & Beverage strategy and operation, inspiring high-performing teams and creating experiences that bring Kimpton’s personality to life. Working closely with the Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager, Bars Manager and wider hotel leadership team, you will shape distinctive food and beverage experiences, drive commercial performance and position Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide as a vibrant destination for both guests and the local community.

In addition, you will be accountable for:

• Food & Beverage Leadership & Strategy – Lead the vision and performance of the hotel's Food & Beverage operation across restaurants, bars, events and culinary experiences, ensuring each venue has a distinctive identity while delivering a consistent Kimpton experience.
• People Leadership & Development – Inspire, coach and develop the Food & Beverage team, fostering an inclusive, high‑performing culture focused on service excellence, collaboration, creativity and genuine human connection. Build capability, engagement and succession across the department.
• Commercial & Financial Performance – Develop and manage F&B budgets, forecasts and business plans, driving revenue, profitability and sustainable commercial growth. Optimise food, beverage and labour costs while identifying opportunities to increase revenue through activations, events, promotions and new business opportunities.
• Guest Experience & Engagement – Lead the delivery of warm, intuitive and memorable dining experiences that build guest loyalty and strengthen the hotel's reputation for F&B excellence. Champion guest feedback, service recovery and continuous improvement across all venues.
• Culinary & Beverage Experience – Work closely with the Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager and Bars Manager to bring seasonal food and beverage experiences to life, reflecting South Australian provenance, local culture and the distinctive personality of Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide.
• Sales, Marketing & Community – Partner with Sales, Revenue and Marketing to maximise F&B performance and position the hotel's venues as compelling destinations for guests and locals. Build relationships with local producers, suppliers, winemakers, distillers and the Adelaide hospitality community to strengthen the hotel's local connection.
• Operational Excellence & Responsible Business – Ensure consistently high standards of service, quality, safety, compliance and responsible business practices across all F&B operations. Champion sustainable practices, effective resource management and continuous operational improvement.

What We Need From You

• Proven experience leading Food & Beverage operations in a luxury hotel, lifestyle brand, destination restaurant or comparable hospitality environment.
• Strong commercial acumen, with a proven track record of delivering revenue, profitability and operational performance across multiple F&B outlets.
• Inspiring leadership skills, with the passion for developing, engaging and retaining high‑performing hospitality teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading restaurants, bars, events and/or multi‑outlet Food & Beverage operations.
• A strong understanding of contemporary food and beverage trends, with the ability to create experiences that connect with guests and the local community.
• Exceptional guest experience mindset, with the ability to translate brand vision into warm, intuitive and memorable hospitality.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with Culinary, Sales, Revenue, Marketing and wider hotel leadership teams.
• Creativity, curiosity and a collaborative mindset, with the drive to position Kimpton Mayfair Adelaide as a vibrant and locally loved destination.
