Job summary

ASX is seeking a Senior Cyber Security Leader to drive the proactive defence of its critical market infrastructure in Australia. You will lead the Cyber Security team, shaping strategy, governance, and incident response across the organisation.

You will oversee SOC operations, threat intelligence, and AI-enabled detection, build junior leaders, and partner with technology, risk and business teams to reduce cyber risk. Background checks apply.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology with 5+ years in IT leadership and 5+ years specialising in Cyber Security.
• Deep technical mastery in SOC operations, incident response, vulnerability management, threat intelligence, and offensive tradecraft (Red/Purple teaming).
• Executive translation: translating threat metrics into business narratives for Executives and Board.
• AI integration: embedding agentic AI and automation into security workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead proactive cyber defence strategy with focus on minimising attacker dwell time.
• Oversee SOC, threat detection, monitoring, and incident response.
• Direct specialised engineering leveraging AI to accelerate detection and response.
• Develop threat intelligence and proactive hunting capabilities.
• Improve cyber defence technologies, processes, and operating models.
• Coordinate response to cyber security incidents and post-incident reviews.
• Manage cyber defence tooling (SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR).
• Establish cyber resilience monitoring, recovery, and crisis management.
• Report metrics and risk to executives.
