Job summary

Grant Thornton Australia is seeking a self-starting Senior Director to lead the cyber defend and operations capability in Australia. You’ll shape an AI-enabled, globally connected offering spanning advisory, implementation and managed services, while translating client needs into practical, scalable security outcomes.

Ideal candidates have a background in cyber defence operations, executive advisory experience and a proven ability to grow teams and senior client relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience leading security operations or MDR teams.
• Proven ability to evolve cyber defence and operating models.
• Experience advising clients and stakeholders on security outcomes.
• Track record of developing and growing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead local evolution of cyber defend and operations for Australian market.
• Advise clients on defence and operations models fitting their environment.
• Shape advisory, implementation pathways and detection engineering.
• Own service roadmap, onboarding, and customer journey for scale.
• Lead and develop a team of security professionals.
• Advise executives on detection, response and risk metrics.
• Act as senior escalation point for major incidents.
