Job summary

ASX Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior Manager, Cyber Defence and Engineering to lead proactive cyber defence strategy and secure critical market infrastructure. You will oversee SOC operations, threat detection, and AI-enabled security workflows, building a high-performing team and partnering with risk, technology, and business units to reduce cyber risk.

The role supports regulatory, audit, and compliance initiatives, with hybrid work and flexible arrangements.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in technology with 5+ years in IT leadership and 5+ years in cyber security.
• Deep proficiency in SOC operations, incident response, and threat intel.
• Experience embedding AI and automation into security workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead the proactive cyber defence strategy to minimise attacker dwell time.
• Oversee SOC, threat detection, monitoring and incident response functions.
• Direct engineering functions with AI-assisted detection and response at scale.
• Drive threat hunting, risk-based improvement and security governance.
