Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Direct Service Team Leader to supervise daily operations of direct support staff delivering accommodation and respite services to people with an intellectual disability. You will ensure practices meet legislative standards, including NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators, while mentoring staff within the established framework.

You will foster continuous service improvement, monitor systems, and provide constructive feedback.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current C class driver's license.
• Current Apply First Aid Certificate.
• Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent.
• Current NDIS worker screening clearance.
• A minimum of six years relevant experience in providing support to people with an intellectual disability.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging teams to identify and implement strategies to ensure continuous improvement of service delivery for people with an intellectual disability.
• You keep yourself and teams informed about and ensure the application of relevant legislative requirements, departmental policies and service delivery practices.
• You plan for and implement regular monitoring and review of systems and processes utilised by support staff within the service delivery environment.
• Can articulate performance standards when providing assessment of direct support staff by providing constructive and incisive feedback about the work practices of individual staff with service delivery and departmental requirements.
• You actively contribute and encourage relevant others to participate in support planning for people with a disability receiving services.
