Job summary

Queensland Lutheran Early Childhood and School-Aged Care Services – LORDS OSHC on the Gold Coast is seeking a Diploma-qualified Educator to support before school, after school and vacation care programs. Qualifications

• Diploma in Children’s Services or ACECQA-approved equivalent, or actively working towards one.
• Current Blue Card and First Aid/CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications or willingness to obtain.
• Child Protection Training completed or as required by Law.
• Experience in an OSHC or similar setting preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children before school, after school and during holidays.
• Deliver programs tailored to varying ages and abilities in line with My Time Our Place and National Quality Framework.
• Engage positively with children and families; collaborate with a team of educators.

We have exciting opportunity for Diploma Qualified Educator to join our team at LORDS OSHCon acasual basis.

The position

• As a Casual Educator, you will play an active role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment where children feel supported, valued, and encouraged to learn through play. You will work collaboratively with a team of dedicated educators to deliver high‑quality care that supports children and their families.
• Actively engage and supervise children in a range of activities—both indoor and outdoor that stimulate learning and promote wellbeing.
• Create a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment where children can play, explore, and develop new skills.
• Deliver programs that are tailored to the varying ages, interests, and abilities of the children in care, in line with the ‘My Time Our Place: Framework for OSHC’and the National Quality Framework.
• Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider school community.
• Work collaboratively with the team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
• Engage positively with children during before schooling, after school, and vacation care sessions
• Contribute to a supportive and professional team environment
• Help keep our space sparkling and safe by pitching in with light cleaning tasks.

About You

• Diploma in Children’s Services (or ACECQA-approved equivalent) or actively working towards one.
• Have a genuine passion for working with school‑aged children
• Are reliable, flexible, and a positive team player
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong understanding of the National Quality Standards and the National Framework.
• A current Blue Card
• Certifications in First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis (or willing to obtain prior to commencement)
• Completed relevant Child Protection Training course (as per Section 162A of the Education and Care Services National Law)
• Experience in an OSHC or similar setting would be preferred however, all applicants would be considered.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
• A genuine passion for working with children and fostering their development.
• Willingness to work within the Christian ethos of the service.
• Experience with Food Handling (desired but not essential).
