Job summary

Camden Council seeks a Digital Content Advisor to bring services and projects to life through engaging, accessible content across websites, social media, and video. Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability analysing digital performance data and audience insights.
  • Experience managing website and digital content using CMS with strong UX and accessibility understanding.
  • Experience developing communication plans for projects with multiple audiences and channels.
  • Experience creating social media content and digital campaigns reaching diverse audiences.
  • Experience scripting and producing video/content for websites and social platforms.
  • Strong communication skills to translate complex information into clear content.
  • Knowledge of local government operations and governance.
  • Experience using DAM or similar systems to manage digital content.

As our Digital Content Advisor, you'll bring Council's services, projects and priorities to life through engaging, accessible and audience-focused digital content. You'll work across websites, social media, video and other digital platforms to create content that reaches diverse audiences and delivers a positive digital experience.

This is an opportunity to combine creativity with strategy. You'll collaborate with teams from across Council, use analytics and audience insights to understand what's working, explore emerging technologies and continually improve how we communicate online.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing or a related discipline, and/or demonstrated equivalent experience in digital communications or content production
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse digital performance data and audience insights to evaluate and continuously improve content effectiveness, reach and engagement across digital platforms
  • Demonstrated experience managing website and digital platform content using Content Management Systems (CMS), with a sound understanding of user experience, digital accessibility, search optimisation and contemporary digital content practices
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing communication plans and approaches to support projects, programs and initiatives, including identifying audiences, key messages, channels and opportunities for engagement
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering social media content and digital campaigns that effectively reach and engage diverse audiences across multiple digital channels
  • Demonstrated experience in scripting and developing video and online content for websites and social media platforms, tailored to the requirements of different digital platforms and target audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse digital performance data and audience insights to evaluate and continuously improve content effectiveness, reach and engagement across digital platforms
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging and accessible content for diverse audiences
  • Valid NSW Driver Licence
  • Knowledge of local government operations, governance requirements and communication practices, with an understanding of the role of effective communication in supporting community engagement, transparency and public accountability
  • Experience using Digital Asset Management (DAM), enterprise content management or similar systems to effectively manage, maintain and improve access to digital content and assets.
