Job summary

SeaLink K’Gari is seeking a qualified diesel mechanic to join our workshop team at Kingfisher Bay Resort on K’gari (Fraser Island). The role is a permanent, live-on-island position with up to 76 hours per fortnight, including staff accommodation and free passenger ferry transfers as part of the package.

You will repair, service and maintain the Resort fleet of 4WD buses, resort vehicles and plant, ensuring safety and reliability for guests exploring the island.

Qualifications

• Hold current MR/HR licence (must have at time of application).
• Physically fit and able.
• Knowledge of mechanical workshop operations and associated equipment.
• Ability to operate and interpret diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across the company’s fleet of vehicles and plant to safety standards.
• Maintain and repair the Resort fleet of vehicles and equipment to safety standards.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and safety.

About the Role

As one of our mechanics, you will carry out repairs, scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance across the company’s fleet of 4WD buses, resort vehicles, plant and equipment. Your work will help keep the fleet safe, reliable and ready to deliver comfortable, memorable experiences for guests exploring K'gari.

Key Role Requirements

• Actively follow all Workplace Health & Safety procedures and practices consistent with legislative requirements and regulations.
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to 4WD buses to safety standards
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to the Resort fleet of vehicles to safety standards
• Provide mechanical maintenance and repairs to the Resort plant and equipment to safety standards
• Test drive vehicles
