Job summary

Janus Electric is transforming heavy transport by converting diesel trucks to electric, with a national swappable battery network. We seek a Diesel Mechanic at our Central Coast facility to assemble, fit, and dismantle equipment per engineering drawings and sub-assemblies of EVs and gear.

You will work with a team, maintain records, and ensure safety standards while delivering high-quality work on zero-emission trucks.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read technical drawings and specs.
• Good teamwork, reliability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components and equipment using hand and power tools according to specifications.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain accurate records of parts used and time taken for each job.

Job description

Janus Electric is revolutionising heavy transport by converting diesel trucks to electric and building a national swappable battery network. We are scaling fast and need a skilled, detail-oriented Diesel Mechanic to help bring our next generation of zero-emission trucks to life at our Central Coast facility.

We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic, who will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and dismantling equipment according to engineering drawings and specifications, mechanically fitting components for sub-assemblies of electric vehicles and associated equipment.

What You Will Do:

• Assemble components and equipment using hand and power tools according to engineering specifications.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including parts used and time taken for each job.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and policies, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.

What You Bring:

• Completion of a Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining).
• Previous experience in a similar position within the automotive industry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in assembly techniques, and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work well within a team, with strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
