Job summary

The Sutherland Hospital in Caringbah, part of NSW Health, invites applications for a Radiographer Level 2 on a permanent basis. You will perform medical imaging procedures and ensure accurate archiving of diagnostic images under radiologists and managers.

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent.
• Hold a NSW EPA Radiation Licence to operate radiation apparatus and registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated ability and experience to perform radiographic examinations in a wide range of modality areas including general, theatre, mobiles.
• Willingness to participate in a rotating 24/7 roster and on call as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with experience or knowledge in utilising health related computer applications.
• Ability to work with a team and independently with the ability to organise workload to facilitate high patient throughput.
• Knowledge of WHS and radiation protection practices.
• Proven ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• To perform medical imaging procedures and be responsible for the production and accurate archiving of diagnostic images under the direction of radiologists and department managers.
• To ensure the safety of patients and provide high quality patient care.
• To work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 24/7 rotating roster with strong and effective communication skills.
• To work with independent initiative, undertake continuing professional development and maintain competency in all clinical tasks.
