DevSecOps Engineer: Secure CI/CD & Cloud Automation

Job summary

Leidos Australia is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to embed security, automation and reliability across the software delivery lifecycle. You’ll work with engineering, security and platform teams to deliver secure, scalable services for mission-critical capabilities.

As part of the team, you will design secure CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure, and strengthen security posture while enabling rapid delivery of cloud-based solutions across Azure, AWS or Google Cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering or a similar role.
• Experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or similar platforms.
• Capability in cloud technologies and services, preferably within Azure, AWS or Google Cloud environments.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or equivalent.
• Knowledge of secure software development practices, vulnerability management, application security testing and security-by-design principles.
• Experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Ability to automate operational and security processes using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell or Bash.
• Well-developed communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, security and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and enhance secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated security controls.
• Collaborate with engineers, cloud specialists and security teams to improve platform reliability and automate processes.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and cloud-native environments.
• Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise automation and security practices.
