Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment is partnering with a well-established developer builder to recruit an experienced Development Manager. Based in the Gold Coast or Brisbane, you will oversee vertical residential projects from feasibility through to settlement, delivering on time and within budget.

You will manage DA processes, engage with architects and authorities, and drive the complete development lifecycle with hands-on leadership and a delivery-focused mindset.

Qualifications

• 10+ years Australian property development experience.
• Proven hands-on delivery of vertical residential/high-rise projects.
• Strong knowledge of Queensland planning processes including DA management.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with feasibility budgeting and investment cases.
• Experience taking projects from concept/feasibility to delivery and settlement.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Delivery-focused, autonomous decision-maker with a practical approach.

Development Manager

Design & Build Recruitment is currently partnering with a well-established developer builder to secure an experienced Development Manager to join their growing team. You can be based out of either the Gold Coast or Brisbane office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced development professional who has a proven track record delivering vertical residential projects and wants genuine ownership across the development lifecycle.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will take a hands-on role in managing residential development projects from feasibility and planning through to design, construction interface and settlement.

You will be involved across the full development process, working closely with internal stakeholders, consultants, authorities, builders and project teams to ensure projects are successfully progressed and delivered.

This is a delivery-focused Development Manager position - we are looking for someone who enjoys being close to the detail and making things happen, rather than an executive-level appointment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of vertical residential developments across Brisbane, and the Gold Coast
• Manage projects from initial feasibility and acquisition through planning, design, construction and settlement
• Manage DA processes, planning approvals and relevant planning requirements
• Work closely with architects, consultants, authorities, builders and other project stakeholders
• Develop and manage project feasibilities, budgets and investment cases
• Monitor project performance, costs, risks and key milestones
• Manage the interface between development, design and construction teams

What We're Looking For

To be successful, you will have:

• 10+ years' Australian property development experience
• Proven hands-on experience delivering vertical residential / high-rise / tower projects
• Strong knowledge of Queensland planning processes, including DA management and planning proposals
• Strong financial and commercial acumen, including feasibility modelling, budgeting and investment cases
• Experience taking projects from concept and feasibility through to delivery and settlement
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Property Development, Urban Planning, Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline
• A practical, delivery-focused approach with the ability to work autonomously and make decisions
