Parkes Shire Council in Parkes, NSW, seeks a Development Engineer for a 12‑month internal secondment, full time with a nine‑day fortnight. The role ensures infrastructure meets standards, is safe, compliant and sustainable, and supports development within the Parkes SAP, working with Planning, Operations and Asset teams.

You will provide engineering advice to developers, consultants and the public, and undertake survey, design, estimating and contract administration for works carried out by

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience in development engineering and subdivision assessment within local government.
• Knowledge of Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Local Government Act and Roads Act.
• Experience in preparing engineering conditions of consent for Development Applications.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Strong written communication and ability to prepare reports and technical correspondence.
• High level of computer literacy with relevant software.
• Current NSW Driver’s Licence.
• Current SafeWork NSW White Card.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare engineering conditions for development proposals and audit/enforce standards on design and construction.
• Develop engineering response to development matters including storm water, roads and infrastructure.
• Engineering design development assessment and compliance.
• Certification and inspections of subdivision works.
• Assist to review plans to defend civil liability claims.
• Provide engineering design and construction plans for traffic, parking, roads, footpaths, water, sewer and drainage.
