Job summary

The Shire Council is seeking a senior Civil Engineer to coordinate the engineering aspects of internal and external infrastructure works in alignment with policy, standards and legislative requirements.

You will lead infrastructure planning and design, supervise a Technical Services team, manage projects and consultants, and prepare budgets and funding applications while ensuring safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required.
• QLD General Safety Induction – White or Blue Card.
• Queensland C class manual driver's license.
• Experience in infrastructure planning/design, project management, asset management and surveying.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and engineering support to stakeholders on infrastructure projects, design requirements and documentation.
• Prepare construction plans, engineering calculations, cost estimates, specifications and technical documents.
• Investigate, assess and report on repair, maintenance and construction of infrastructure assets.
• Manage infrastructure projects and consultants to meet scope, budget, quality and schedule.
• Supervise, train and mentor Technical Services team members.
• Prepare and monitor infrastructure funding applications and reporting.
• Develop, implement and improve work practices, procedures and management systems.
