Job summary

dormakaba Australia & New Zealand is seeking a Despatch Hand in Adelaide to join our team on a permanent basis. You will report to the Despatch Manager and ensure accurate despatch, receipting, and delivery of stock across Adelaide and surrounding regions.

Your responsibilities include loading, unloading, labeling, operating forklifts, coordinating deliveries, and collaborating with Production to maintain stock availability while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Forklift license required.
• Manufacturing experience essential.
• Proficient with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Process despatch and receipting accurately with clear records.
• Load/unload, label, and handle products safely to ensure on-time delivery.
• Operate forklifts and ensure licensed personnel follow procedures.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules with carriers and customers; manage driver paperwork.

• Promote a zero-injury safety culture and keep the work environment clean and compliant.

Position Overview

An opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and reliable Despatch Hand to join our team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Despatch Manager, this position plays a key role in ensuring efficient and accurate despatch, receipting, delivery and pickup of stock to support our customers across Adeliade and surrounding regions.

What You Will Do

• Accurately process despatch and receipting activities, maintaining clear records and paperwork.
• Load, unload, label and handle products safely to prevent damage and ensure on-time delivery.
• Operate forklifts and equipment safely, ensuring all personnel are licensed and procedures are followed.
• Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules, communicate with carriers and customers, and manage driver paperwork.
• Collaborate with Production and Purchasing to ensure goods are available, resolving issues promptly.
• Promote a zero-injury safety culture and maintain a clean, compliant work environment.

What We Require

• LF Forklift License
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of ERP systems and Microsoft Office
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, bending, packing, and standing for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays when required to meet customer demands
• Excellent communication, organisation and customer service skills

• MR Licence (desirable, but not essential)
• Experience using hand and power tools
• Exposure to warehouse or assembly environments
