Job summary

Troocoo Pty is seeking an experienced Home Assessor to join our growing team in the insurance and claims field. You will attend residential properties, assess damage and prepare detailed scopes of work.

You will review repair methods and costs, coordinate end-to-end claims, and keep customers informed. A building or construction background and experience with attractive technology and virtual assessment tools will be valuable assets.

Qualifications

• Experience in building, construction, property repairs or insurance assessing.
• Understanding of building damage, repair methods and construction costs.
• Experience preparing or reviewing Scopes of Work and validating repair costs.
• Familiarity with building materials, labour rates and construction costs.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Customer-focused approach with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
• Confident using technology and adapting to virtual assessment tools.
• Trade experience is highly regarded; insurance experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Attend residential properties to assess building damage from insured events.

• Determine repair methods balancing quality, cost and customer expectations.
• Manage claims end-to-end, coordinating assessments, repairs and finalisation.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, builders and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor repair progress to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Conduct customer satisfaction and quality assurance checks.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, policies and procedures.
• Travel to customer sites as required, including interstate travel during major weather events.

We’re seeking an experienced Home Assessor to join a growing team within the insurance and claims industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in building, construction or property repairs who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and managing claims through to completion while delivering exceptional customer service.

The Role

• Attend residential properties to assess building damage resulting from insured events.
• Prepare accurate damage reports and detailed Scopes of Work.
• Review builders’ scopes, validate repair costs and negotiate outcomes with repairers.
• Determine appropriate repair methods, balancing quality, compliance, cost and customer expectations.
• Manage claims end-to-end, coordinating assessments, repairs and finalisation.
• Maintain regular communication with customers, builders, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor repair progress to ensure work is completed within agreed timeframes and quality standards.
• Conduct customer satisfaction and quality assurance checks.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, policies and procedures.
• Travel to customer sites as required, with potential interstate travel during major weather events.

About You
