Job summary

Wiley, based in Brisbane, seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead complex design processes for food-industry projects. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, mentor Design Coordinators and manage subconsultants, ensuring buildable, compliant documentation aligned with budgets and schedules.

You bring 10+ years in design/engineering, strong leadership, and advanced Revit skills to drive quality outcomes and continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

• More than 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably within design or engineering.
• Experience managing projects, design teams and external consultants.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Revit capability.
• Practical understanding of constructability, design coordination and project delivery.
• Ability to manage design programs, budgets and quality requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our Design and Engineering business unit, working on complex projects within the food industry.

You will lead and coordinate the design process, ensuring documentation is comprehensive, buildable and delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with clients, engineers, consultants, suppliers and project teams, you will guide the development of practical and efficient design solutions that align with technical requirements, budgets and delivery programs.

About You

You are an experienced design professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and leading multidisciplinary teams. You communicate confidently, manage competing priorities effectively and understand how strong design documentation supports successful construction.

You will also bring:

More than 10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably within design or engineering

Demonstrated experience managing projects, design teams and external consultants

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

Advanced Revit capability

A practical understanding of constructability, design coordination and project delivery

The ability to manage design programs, budgets and quality requirements
