Job summary

Rondo Building Services in Yatala, QLD, is seeking a Design Engineer with a civil/structural background and at least 1 year of design experience. You will design and support wall and ceiling systems, interact with sales staff, architects and engineers, and collaborate with an external design partner for certified services.

You should understand building systems, construction drawings, and have experience with AutoCAD, Excel and Windows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in civil / structural engineering and 1+ years of design experience.
• Knowledge of light gauge roll formed steel products is essential.
• Ability to understand building systems and construction drawings is also desirable.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MS Windows and MS Excel.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering design support for Rondo’s wall & ceiling systems to customers, sales staff, architects, engineers and other specifiers in the market.
• Collaborate with our external design engineer partner to offer certified design services on key projects.
• Input to the Technical Services Team on direction of Rondo’s design services.
• Working knowledge of Australian and other design codes (AS1170 series, AS4600 etc.) Experience in light gauge / cold form steel design.
• Technical assistance with product and system testing, research, design & development.
• Site inspections to ensure the design specification has been installed.
• Work collaboratively with other departments by contributing and developing ideas and suggestions.
• Enforce and follow WHS, quality and environmental procedures.
• Ad hoc projects as required.

The Opportunity

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a Design Engineer to join our team based at Yatala, QLD. Reporting to the General Manager Group Development, the successful person will work closely with the Sales, Design and Marketing departments along with strategic business partners.

Key Responsibilities
