Job summary

ACCIONA is leading the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant project in Perth, WA, overseeing start-up, testing and handover of mechanical systems. The role ensures installation quality, performance testing and issue resolution with vendors and contractors.

You will work with construction, operations and supplier teams to achieve commissioning milestones while maintaining safety and environmental standards. This is a full-time on-site position with relocation support possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Experience commissioning mechanical systems on water, desalination or process plants.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and equipment specifications.
• Experience in mechanical completion, performance testing and punch list management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and safety-first attitude.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commissioning plans and schedules for mechanical systems (pumps, piping, valves, vessels, rotating equipment).
• Coordinate with construction, operations and vendors to ensure readiness for commissioning.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks, mechanical completion verification and punch list clearance.
• Conduct functional and performance tests to verify design compliance.
• Monitor system parameters during start-up and adjust as needed.
• Document test results and prepare commissioning reports.
• Support handover to operations for steady-state operation.
