ACCIONA is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead start-up, testing and handover of the Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant in Western Australia. You will verify installation quality, conduct performance tests and support the transition from construction to operations.

Reporting to the Manager, Commissioning, you will coordinate with construction, operations, vendors and contractors to ensure readiness, manage punch lists, and uphold safety and quality standards throughout commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Experience commissioning mechanical systems on water or desalination plants is highly regarded.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and equipment specifications.
• Experience in mechanical completion, performance testing and punch list management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work with vendors and operations teams.
• Safety-first attitude and compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement commissioning plans for mechanical systems such as pumps and piping.
• Coordinate with construction, operations and vendor teams for readiness.
• Perform pre-commissioning checks, mechanical completion verification and punch list clearance.
• Conduct functional and performance tests to verify design compliance.
• Document test results and prepare commissioning reports.
• Assist with equipment modifications, repairs and optimisation.
• Support handover to operations and training for steady-state operation.
