Job summary

ACCIONA is commissioning a major Western Australia water project, a large-scale desalination facility that targets 2028 start-up and handover. The Mechanical Project Engineer will verify installation quality, run tests, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with construction, operations, vendors and contractors to ensure a smooth transition to operations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Experience commissioning mechanical systems in water, desalination or process plants is valued.
Ability to read P&IDs and equipment specifications.
Strong troubleshooting and collaborative skills.
Safety-first mindset and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

Develop commissioning plans and schedules for mechanical systems (pumps, piping, valves, vessels).
Coordinate with construction, operations and vendors for readiness.
Perform pre-commissioning checks and punch list clearance.
Conduct functional and performance tests on mechanical equipment.
Document results and deliver commissioning reports.
Support handover to operations and training for steady-state operation.
