Job summary

Profectus is seeking an experienced Deputy Program Director to support a multi-year registry modernisation program within an Australian Government agency. The role oversees governance, program operating rhythm and RAID, and deputises for the Program Director across executive reporting and stakeholder engagement.

You will mentor PMO staff and pair with agency teams to ensure delivery across more than 20 projects and three workstreams, while maintaining program cadence and risk controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in program and project delivery.
• Senior roles on large technology-enabled programs.
• Australian Government or regulated-sector programs.
• Governance, RAID, planning and reporting.
• Coordinating multiple workstreams and suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive-level written communication.
• Mentoring project managers and PMO staff.
• Experience in program recovery or stabilisation.
• Registry, licensing, regulatory or legislative reform programs.
• Legacy system modernisation programs.

Responsibilities

• Support the Program Director across program planning, execution oversight and governance.
• Run the program operating rhythm, including program boards, workstream reviews, steering committee preparation and action tracking.
• Coordinate integrated planning, dependencies and sequencing across workstreams and delivery partners.
• Run the program RAID process and drive timely, evidence-based corrective action.
• Oversee preparation of executive and steering committee reporting.
• Deputise for the Program Director and represent the program with senior stakeholders.
• Support program staffing, onboarding and performance across agency and partner teams.
• Pair with agency staff in program management roles and hand over the program operating rhythm.
• Document governance processes and templates as reusable agency assets.
• Mentor project managers and PMO staff.
