Job summary

Profectus seeks an experienced Program Director to lead a multi-year registry modernisation program for an Australian Government agency. You will oversee three workstreams, 20+ projects and ~350 staff, driving program leadership, governance reporting and benefits management.

You will manage complex RAID, engage executives and drive risk mitigation across hybrid environments, ensuring regulatory alignment and successful delivery across cloud and mainframe modernisation initiatives.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in program delivery.
• Leading large technology-enabled business transformation programs (50m+ or 200+ people).
• Experience in the Australian Public Service or regulated environments at SES-facing level.
• Financial, schedule and benefits management across multi-year funding cycles.
• Delivery in hybrid agile and waterfall environments.
• Executive communication, influence and steering committee management.
• Experience with legislative or regulatory reform programs, registries or licensing systems.
• Legacy-to-cloud modernisation including mainframe to modern platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall program leadership across three workstreams and 20+ projects.
• Oversee integrated plans, business cases, finances, benefits and resourcing.
• Lead reporting to the Program Steering Committee and external governance bodies.
• Identify and mitigate RAID items and drive corrective action.
• Lead and develop workstream leads and project managers; manage staffing.
• Collaborate with agency executives and delivery partners across engineering, data, product and change.
• Ensure legislative decisions remain with the agency and escalated as needed.
• Coach agency leaders and build succession for key roles.
• Establish program leadership playbooks and forums for lasting use post-partner exit.
• Track capability uplift and dependency reduction against transition criteria.
